  • Policy: Put your AI rules for staff on one page, check them against your department or sector policy each year, and add a plan for AI deepfakes. What goes in a school AI use policy
  • Staff capability: Run a short staff session on the few firm rules, checking AI output and when to disclose AI use, then show time-saving uses that stay within them. If your teachers already use AI, what next?
  • Tool approval and terms: Keep one list of approved AI tools, and approve a new one only after you check its ST4S report (or your sector's check), its age limit and its terms. A quick, fair way to approve AI tools
  • Privacy and images: Tell all staff and students in writing that no personal information, sensitive school data or images of real people go into AI tools, and get opt-in parent consent where a tool needs more than a school email. Where does student data go?
